Newly opened on Cape Manzamo in 2020, this facility welcomes visitors with souvenir shops, restaurants, an observation deck, and experiential opportunities to learn not only about the Onna-son locality but also Okinawan culture in general. The third-floor observation deck is free of charge and a great place to catch the sunset.

An underwater observatory—the only one on the island—and a fun fleet of whale-shaped glass-bottomed boats bring the vibrant underwater world of Cape Busena’s coral reefs up-close.

Join a local guide in exploring an ancient limestone cave located in the Matsuda district of Ginoza on the eastern side of Okinawa Island. Only the light of your headlamp will illuminate this mysterious and untouched natural wonder as you walk through its 200-meter-long depths.

Consider a Ryukyu glass-blowing workshop, where you can try your hand at every step of the process from pulling and wrapping the glass to coloring and shaping it, all with staff supervision. The center sells only authentic Ryukyu glass products.

Traditional dwellings and other structures relocated from across the prefecture, among them nationally registered cultural properties, offer a glimpse of island life as it was before modernization. Craft opportunities and a daily schedule of song and dance performances round out the fun at this outdoor architectural park; special shows by an Eisah Dance troupe are held on weekends.

From lead-rein rides for beginners to horseback riding and focused lessons, enjoy opportunities to interact with horses along with a splendid view of Seragaki Beach on the west side of Okinawa Island.

Located at the southern entrance of Onna Sunset Road, Onna no Eki Nakayukui Market is a farmer’s market offering a wide range of Okinawan vegetables, fruits, and souvenirs. Also popular among visitors are the shops serving up local dishes and snacks.

The Ginoza version of Japan’s much-loved michi no eki roadside stations offers specialty products unique to the locale along with a large and well-equipped playground, an outdoor splash park, and an excellent selection of restaurants and cafes in addition to the fresh produce sold at the Mirai Farmer’s Market. The Pacific Ocean stretches out to the east; the Kanna Fukuchi River flows alongside, and farther upstream stands Kanna Dam.
